Emmerdale fans were left seriously confused by Belle Dingle during Wednesday night's episode when she referred to her boyfriend Jamie Tate as "family".
Belle (Eden Taylor Draper) was confronted about her relationship with Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) by Cain (Jeff Hordley), who was not happy about it.
But Belle tried to defend her romance, by saying that Jamie "is family too" – something that left viewers scratching their heads.
They rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts about it, with some questioning how she could say that when they haven't been together too long.
One said: "Jamie is my family too? Um no Belle. He is a Tate and he is using you."
Another wrote: "Jamie is my family too. OMG Belle you are so delusional. Until you are legally married Jamie won't be part of your family. Jamie is way too clingy. He is literally with you to save his own skin and so he doesn't go down for the hit and run."
A third tweeted: "Jamie is her family too? Get Jeremy Kyle in for a DNA test Belle."
Someone else said: "'He's my family too'… Only been going out five minutes!"
And a fifth added: "'Jamie's my family too' Eh?"
Belle has stuck by Jamie after he ran Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) over, though it seems like his part in it may be exposed soon.
Viewers watched as Moira discovered that there had been an update in the case, with the farmer still in the dark about who hit her.
Jamie's estranged wife Andrea (Anna Nightingale), his mum Kim (Claire King) and Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) know that he knocked Moira over.
Could Andrea or Nate have come forward to the police about it, because Kim certainly wouldn't?
It would be a sure-fire way for Nate to get in his dad Cain's good books, though it may also cause him to go out for blood.
With Cain already gunning for Jamie due to his romance with Belle, the last thing they need is another reason – this one far heavier – to go after Jamie.
