Holly Willoughby panics as parents told to buy kids' Christmas presents NOW amid toy shortage

THIS Morning star Holly Willoughby broke out in a panic at the news "Christmas chaos" is about to hit Britain.

The 40-year-old mum-of-three said she was "in a cold sweat" after hearing popular toys are already running out.

Geoff Sheffield from toy chain The Entertainer warned parents should hit the shops NOW if they want to get the must-have gifts.

The shocking news came as it was revealed there are now only 100 days until Christmas.

Holly told him: "As you're talking I'm breaking out in a cold sweat here. I'm a parent of three kids, Christmas in 100 days away.

"Is it good to buy now? Are we just going to bring the panic further is we all go out and panic-buy toys?"

The expert explained that containers from Asia had been commandeered to move face masks and other PPE out of China month ago – causing a toy shortage.

He said: "If we go back to the pandemic and the demand on equipment and containers in Asia for the PPE equipment.

"Governments all over the world had huge demand on that. We've never been able to replace that number of containers, there's been a shortage.

"Consumer demand has continued to be high in the toy industry. As a result the demand in spaces on ships has not subsided. We're seeing delays and ever-increasing costs."

He warned: "Plan early and if you see it, buy it, because the reality is we're running out of days to get things on the water in time to reach the UK."

It comes after Britain was also hit with shortages of toys and garden furniture because of shipping problems over the summer.
