It’s going to be a very dramatic visit to EastEnders tonight as the Branning family each hit crisis point for different reasons. Rainie (Tanya Franks) remains missing with baby Abi but with her stolen cash and her ability to stay one step ahead, it seems that Max (Jake Wood) is running out of hope if he ever wants to see his granddaughter again. Jack (Scott Maslen) is doing all he can to help his brother but he will soon have issues of his own to deal with when the police come calling over his assault on Tiffany Butcher’s (Maisie Smith) rapist Fraser.
As Rainie books into a hotel, she starts to let her guard down but as she gets to know someone at the bar, she is distracted and only notices that she has been tracked down by Max at the last minute. She makes a break for it when she sees him approaching but it’s only when it’s too late that she sees that her money has gone, plunging her into danger.
As she has to take drastic action to try and keep herself and Abi safe, she finds she is running out of options – but what will she do next as she has nowhere to go and not a penny to her name?
As Max is frustrated that she is still out there with Abi, Jack tries to appease the situation but soon he gets a knock at the door and an old detective friend of his warns him that his name has been linked to the violent assault against Fraser and it could amount to a charge of GBH.
As Jack hears his warnings that prison is no place for a former copper, he is troubled by what’s ahead – and Max reckons he should consider cutting his losses and fleeing the Square.
But what will Jack do?
EastEnders continues on Monday 15th July at 8pm on BBC One.
