Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway has opened up about finding US President Donald Trump's latest claims about coronavirus "heartbreaking".
Kate's husband Derek has been in hospital since the end of March this year after being diagnosed with coronavirus, and was placed in an induced coma, and is now in a minimum state of consciousness.
Trump has also been diagnosed with coronavirus and was transferred to a military facility after his symptoms worsened, but has since left.
A video showed Trump landing at the White House before looking out over the balcony, having taken his mask off, after telling the US public he "feels great".
Another clip showed Trump telling the US public to not fear the virus or let it dominate their lives, before saying medicines or even a vaccine would soon be available.
He also told people repeatedly that they were going to beat the virus, so people shouldn't let it "dominate their lives".
After seeing the video, Kate was visibly upset as she insisted it's just about people dying, but also about those who have seen those close to them lose their lives.
She said: "It's extraordinary isn't it, it is extraordinary. It's heartbreaking actually.
"His attitude, you could argue, sanctioned the behaviour at that event whenever it was in September.
"Now nine people have been infected, 10 including him, would they have even traced many of the other people?"
She added: "Really, what would you be doing if this was you or me, we'd be sobbing our hearts out going, 'oh my goodness, this is awful' and 'aren't I lucky I am doing well'.
"Do you think on some level he knows and he's got to just carry on like this?"
On his advice not to fear the virus, she said: "It's terrible because it's not even just the deaths or the fear of death.
"Those 210,000 people have families that are grieving, so the event isn't just the illness, but it's the impact on lives and livelihoods."
Kate shared her upset yesterday as she revealed that neither her kids or Derek's parents have been able to see him since he was admitted to hospital.
Despite him no longer testing positive for coronavirus, only Kate is allowed to visit her husband, which she shared her frustration over as she said having his family with him "could be of great benefit to his recovery".
GMB continues tomorrow at 6am on ITV.
