Phillip Schofield inspects the damage after a tree falls outside £2m bachelor pad and smashes his neighbour's car

PHILLIP Schofield was spotted inspecting the damage after a tree fell and smashed his neighbour's car.

The This Morning star, 58, joined his neighbours to check out the extensive destruction caused to a black Ford by a huge tree toppling over in the wind outside his £2 million bachelor pad.

Phil kept things casual in shorts, flip-flops and a white T-shirt as he chatted to fellow residents of the posh West London neighbourhood of Chiswick.

The Dancing on Ice presenter pulled an array of grimaces as he looked at what had happened, while also gesticulating wildly as he chatted away.

The unfortunate event comes just a couple of weeks after Phil moved to Chiswick, which is close to where his pal Holly Willoughby lives.

The This Morning co-stars have since been spotted riding bikes in the area, which is close to the River Thames.

Declan Donnelly also lives close by with his wife and daughter, and it is also near the home Ant McPartlin shared with his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.

Speaking about the £2 million house, a neighbour told the Mail Online: "There’s quite a few famous people already living around here so Phillip Schofield moving in is not a big deal.

"A lot of people have been talking about it, but nobody bothers him. He’s a lovely bloke and I’m sure he’ll enjoy living in our community."

In February, Phil announced he was gay during an emotional interview on This Morning with Holly, 39.

He continued living with Stephanie, his wife of 27 years, but the amicable couple are now said to have discussed divorce.

A source told The Sun that Phillip is keen to make their separation as painless as possible, and has recently taken on more work to ensure she is generously provided for, telling pals she will get half of everything.

With his worth estimated to be around £9million, it means that devoted former BBC worker Steph is in line for a £4.5million settlement.

An insider said: "Phillip and Steph have had a lot of hard, painful conversations over the past ten months but remain as tight and devoted to one another as ever."

Phil is also reportedly building a new bachelor pad in the garage of his family’s luxury home, where Steph will still live.

He is converting a two-bedroom house within the £2.6million Oxfordshire mansion, and plans show a sprawling kitchen will replace one of the garages.
