STRICTLY Come Dancing BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker as this year's eighth contestants.
His BBC co-host Louise Minchin left open-mouthed when Dan appeared via video link to share his secret having had no idea the announcement was happening, exclaiming: "There's nothing in the running order!"
She was confused as she watched a video teasing the new contestant, and when Dan appeared on screen she shrieked: "I don't believe it – Mr Walker! Oh wow, congratulations!"
Louise went on: "What I'm really annoyed about is nobody's told me anything, Dan – I should have guessed, I can't believe it!"
Dan was incredibly apologetic – insisting he'd only told "a small circle", and his kids only found out at the weekend. He added: "I'm very sorry, I was told it'd make good telly if we didn't tell you."

JOHN’S BATTLE
Strictly Come Dancing’s John Whaite was left feeling suicidal and quit fame to live on a farm after winning The Great British Bake Off.

Since finding fame, John has been open about his mental health battle and has discussed suffering from bulimia and suicidal thoughts as recently as 2019.
After Bake Off, he returned to university to do his barrister training but ended up getting pneumonia from stress – leading him to drop out of the law course.
John added: “I kind of felt like I’d failed. And I felt suicidal. I really really did think I was going to end it.”
He recalled sitting down with his partner Paul about needing to escape the UK and “be with nature”, so he relocated to Canada and volunteered on a farm he found through a worldwide programme.

ROBERT WEBB SUBJECT OF 72% OF ALL STRICTLY BETS SO FAR, BOOKIES SAY
A huge 72% of Strictly bets so far have been in favour of Robert Webb, Ladbrokes can reveal.
After the first batch of celebs were announced last week, the bookies have reported almost three in four bets have been struck on the Peep Show star, whose odds have been slashed from 20/1 to just 16/1 as a result.
Elsewhere, Tom Fletcher continues to head the betting at 5/1 and is the second-most popular pick with punters, while AJ Odudu and Rhys Stephenson are 8/1 apiece.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Robert Webb could well be this year’s Strictly dark horse if the latest betting figures are anything to go by, with punters confident the 16/1 shot can cause an upset.”

STRICTLY STAR AJ ODUDU REVEALS SHE NEARLY QUIT TV BECAUSE OF ABUSE OVER HER ‘DODGY ACCENT’
STRICTLY’s AJ Odudu has revealed how she nearly quit TV for good after being branded “the black girl with the dodgy accent” left her traumatised.
AJ, who endured constant racist slurs as a child growing up in Blackburn, was hit by a barrage of online hate following her TV debut on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side.
The abuse, which focused on her Northern accent, was so intense that Channel 4 staff advised her to get elocution lessons to help “soften” her voice.
AJ recalled: “It was brilliant but with that exposure comes a lot of pressure and a lot of criticism. I remember people tweeting, ‘Who is that black girl with that dodgy accent’ and, ‘Why does she sound like that?’ That made me feel so insecure (because) people were commenting on things I had no real control over.
“And it didn’t help that someone internally said, ‘AJ, we think you should get some help with your voice. Maybe you can speak clearer and we could soften your accent’.”
