This Morning fans in tears as Paul Chuckle opens up about his brother's death saying Barry hid that he was ill

THIS Morning viewers were left in pieces after the emotional chat with iconic comedian Paul Elliot – otherwise known as a Chuckle Brother.

The TV star, 72, opened up about the passing of his brother and comedy partner Barry Chuckle – two years ago.

Paul told the hosts how his brother had hidden his illness from everyone and said: "He wanted to work he loves working he loved making people laugh, and he knew if I found out and his management would have made him go and get it sorted.

"That is something else he never liked, he never like hospitals."

Paul told the presenters: "There was originally six of us, five boys and one girl and now there's Brian and myself left.

"Sheila was the first to die, then Colin, then Barry then a year after Barry, Jimmy died."

Fans flooded Twitter with their recollections and memories of the TV pair, with one writing: "Aww Paul Chuckle is a lovely guy. It’s a shame Barry died."

One fan wrote on social media: "Watching Paul Chuckle’s interview on his brother, Barry Chuckle, has got me emotional af."

"I love them both so much."

Another added: "Paul Chuckle making me nearly cry talking about Barry there."

Eamon asked if he missed his brother, to which the star, currently in Greece, replied: "A lot he'd been with me for 70 years.

"We worked together as partners for 55 years. I still miss him today."

"The physical pain you get when somebody dies, it is a physical thing, not just a pain.

Paul told Eamon and Ruth: "Every time when I work I always feel that he is there with me and it is a nice feeling.

"It is a nice feeling that he is there helping me all the way along.

"We were always together, always working together, he was never in my dreams.

"As soon as he's died he's always been in my dreams with me as well which I think of as him being in an afterlife."

The 72-year-old lost his brother Jimmy Patton, 87, just 12 months after Barry passed away from bone cancer.

Veteran entertainer Barry starred alongside Paul as one half of the Chuckle Brothers in the BBC comedy show ChuckleVision, which ran for 21 series from 1987 to 2009.

Jimmy’s catchphrase on the show was: “Remember — no slacking”, while Brian was known for his cry: “Geroutofit.”
