A simple trick for removing the price off Christmas gifts without ripping the tag or leaving sticker marks has caught the attention of thousands on TikTok.
Australian TikTokker Tony revealed the hack in a now-viral video and simply ‘cooked’ the tag on a hot sandwich press for 20 seconds to seamlessly remove the price.
In the clip the sticker instantly lifted from the paper price tag as the heat ‘melted’ the glue; it’s important to be quick and keep an eye on the tag to avoid a fire hazard.
Tony said the hack is the perfect way to hide the price if you bought someone a ‘cheap gift’.

‘If you buy someone a cheap present and you want to hide the price, grab a [sandwich press], cook the price tag for about 20 seconds and the tag will come off as good as new,’ he said in the short clip.
The demonstrative video has since been viewed more than 4.2million times, amazing TikTok users worldwide.
‘I couldn’t get through life without your hacks,’ one person wrote.
But while the video received praise, others weren’t convinced and suggested throwing the tag away all together.
Some suggested alternative methods, such as using a hair straightener or blow dryer to remove the sticker.
‘Or you could just mark over it with a Sharpie,’ another said.
Over the last month other social media users have been sharing their go-to hacks for the festive season.

Mum Danielle, from Melbourne, used $5 brown craft paper to wrap her kids’ Christmas gifts to save money.
But before wrapping the presents, she repeatedly wrote the names of the recipients in cursive handwriting for a decorative touch.
‘Kmart craft paper to gift wrapper and my little calligraphy skills,’ she captioned the post.
And instead of using ribbon she tied the presents with twine to perfectly match the style.
The idea is not only environmentally friendly but would save money on fancy wrapping paper.
