62-year-old Richard Valdez was pronounced dead at a hospital after being transported from the rock band’s Knotfest Roadshow gig at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park.
AceShowbiz -A 62-year-old Slipknot fan lost his life in the mosh pit at the band’s Illinois show on Sunday, August 11.
Richard Valdez was transported from Slipknot’s “Knotfest Roadshow” concert at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed an autopsy is underway and a cause of death will be revealed within days.
The tragedy comes almost three weeks after Slipknot singer Corey Taylor halted a Knotfest set in San Bernardino, California to allow medics to get into the mosh pit to attend to injured fans.
“No one is f**king getting hurt on my f**king watch, do you understand me?” the masked singer growled. “Back the f**k up!”
Slipknot have yet to respond to the news of Valdez’s death.
