The former soldier featured in the current series, but show bosses are now searching for his replacement. So, will there be another season of SAS: Who Dares Wins?
SAS: Who Dares Wins is the hit series that sees five ex-Special Forces soldiers recreate the SAS’s secret selection process.
A number of contestants battle it out as they are put through the process, testing both their physical and psychological resilience.
The Channel 4 documentary series began in 2015 and became an instant hit with viewers.
But, as season six comes to a close, many fans are left wondering about the future of the show.
Will there be another season of SAS: Who Dares Wins?
Many Channel 4 viewers have been speculating about the future of the show, especially after the channel revealed Ant Middleton would no longer be appearing.
But, the good news for fans is that it looks as though Channel 4 are still going ahead with a seventh season.
In fact, applications for season seven are already open to members of the public who want to take on the toughest challenge on telly.
Channel 4 are reportedly in the process of finding a replacement for former Special Forces soldier Ant Middleton.
However, the series has recently been hit by rumours that show bosses are struggling to replace hard-man Ant.
A source revealed: “Bosses really wanted this first series without Ant to go with a bang… [but] they’re struggling to replace Ant.
“They can’t bring in a complete novice. It’s got to be someone who has that star appeal of Ant,” the source told The Sun.
The insider suggested picking a host from the American version of the show could have given the series a boost, but said the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is scuppering that plan.
“Everyone wants answers but emails are being ignored and it’s frustrating everyone on the show,” they added.
But, Channel 4 have recently spoken out about the future of the show, hinting that all is going well with planning for season seven.
“We are still in the early stages of planning the next series of SAS: Who Dares Wins, so it is too early to confirm the details,” a spokesperson told Radio Times.
The spokesperson continued: “Lots of options are being considered but it is shaping up to be another spectacular but brutal series.
“As with all Channel 4 productions, strict COVID guidelines will be followed,” they added.
It’s currently unknown exactly when season seven will land on screens, but it’s likely to be released at some point next year.
SAS: Who Dares Wins season six concludes tonight (June 13) on Channel 4 at 9pm.
