Season 3, episode 10 of “TheGood Doctor” was intense. Shaun (Freddie Highmore) visited his abusivefather before he passed away. That meeting took its toll on Shaun (this wasevident after he curled up in a fetal position at the close of the episode). Wealso saw Shaun strengthening his bond with Leah, whom he reached out to forsupport. Also, Claire (Antonia Thomas) decides to seek therapy after herpersonal life begins to crumble. Here are three questions Showbiz Cheat Sheethas about the upcoming episode of “The Good Doctor.”
Will Shaun and Carly break up?
Shaunand Carly’s relationship has been rocky. Carly has been trying to getcloser to Shaun. In the last couple of episodes, she attempts to help him getcomfortable with holding hands, kissing, hugging, and now being physicallyintimate. The only problem is Shaun doesn’t seem ready to take the relationshipto a physical level. He often moves away from Carly and looks veryuncomfortable when she tries to touch him.
Shaun’s discomfort with Carly became clear when he tells Dr.Glassman he doesn’t want her to accompany him on his trip to see his father,Ethan. Instead, he wanted Leah to come with him. The biggest indication ofShaun’s comfort level with Leah could be seen when he allowed her to hold himafter his father’s death. Shaun seemed completely at ease. However, when Carlytried to hold him, he looked like he was trying to get away.
We’re guessing Carly will be very upset when she discoversShaun and Leah went to visit his father. She will likely be hurt he didn’t tellher about the trip and that he chose another woman as his travel companion.Could this be the death of their romance?
Will Lim and Melendez get back to together?
Lim and Melendez (or “Limlendez,” as fans like to call them)had an unexpectedbreakup. Lim told Melendez she was having trouble balancing her personaland professional lives. She decided to choose work over him. After the breakup,Lim started avoiding Melendez. Lim eventually confessed she was having secondthoughts about breaking things off. Does this mean there might be a reunion?
Will Claire turn her life around?
Claire decidedto see a therapist after making some poor decisions. The situation thatsent her back to the therapist’s office was her affair with a married man. Theman’s wife found out about the relationship and slapped Claire in front of hercolleagues. This was a wake-up call that led Claire to re-evaluate her life andher choices.
We wonder if Claire will stop trying to numb her pain andstart dealing with her trauma. We can see from the joint therapy appointmentshe had with her mom (season 3, episode 3, titled “Claire”) that Claire tendsto gloss over her feelings and say things are fine when they aren’t. Duringthat session, the therapist asked Claire how she was feeling and how thingswere going for her, and she said, “I’m good, everything is fine.” However, itwas evident from her face and body language that things were not OK with her. Will she finally face the truth and do the inner work she so desperately needsto do?
